Lahore Police have increased the fee for departmental service cards due to rising inflation. Officials confirmed the revised charges in an internal update. The decision applies to both new cards and renewals.
According to official sources, the Lahore Police previously charged Rs. 250 for a new service card. The fee has now been increased to Rs. 400. This change reflects the rising operational and administrative costs.
The renewal fee for departmental service cards has also been increased. It has gone up by Rs. 150 compared to earlier charges. Authorities say the adjustment was necessary due to inflationary pressure.
Sources further revealed that many service cards are still pending printing. These include applications submitted around one month ago. As a result, several officers and personnel are waiting for their updated cards.
It has also been reported that cards are being issued only after the payment of the revised fee. This means pending applicants may need to clear additional charges before receiving their documents.
The Lahore Police administration has issued new instructions regarding service cards. SP Headquarters Munazza Karamat has directed all officers and staff to apply again if their card is damaged, expired, or lost.
She emphasized that updated applications should be submitted without delay. She also said that proper documentation is important for smooth verification and issuance.
Officials added that personnel from district police and city traffic police can collect their service cards from designated Police Lines offices. Distribution is being handled in phases to manage workload and processing.
The Lahore Police have stated that the revised fee structure will help improve administrative efficiency. It is also expected to support faster processing and better service management in the future.
Authorities have assured staff that efforts are being made to reduce delays in card issuance. They have urged employees to cooperate with updated procedures and fee requirements.
