LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved a 10-day Basant celebration in Lahore.

The festival will take place in early 2027, according to the approved schedule. The event is expected to give residents a longer period to celebrate the traditional festival.

The Basant festivities will begin on January 29, 2027. They will continue until February 7, 2027.

There will be a one-day break during the celebrations. The break will take place on February 5 for Kashmir Day.

Lahore recently hosted its first Basant celebration in 25 years. The event was held from February 6 to February 8 this year.

Following that celebration, Maryam Nawaz directed officials to prepare plans for a longer festival. The proposed 10-day schedule has now been approved.
