Lahore: The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has announced that major industrial consumers will now be required to install two electricity meters. The move aims to ensure accurate billing, reduce power theft, and improve energy management.
LESCO officials stated that the new policy applies to industries consuming high electricity loads, and compliance will be monitored strictly. Non-compliant units may face penalties or disconnection from the power supply.
The decision is part of broader efforts to modernize electricity distribution, improve transparency in billing, and enhance efficiency across industrial sectors. Authorities believe that accurate metering will also help in reducing financial losses and ensuring fair energy charges.
Industrial associations have been asked to coordinate with LESCO for smooth implementation and installation of the required meters.
