LAHORE – The Lahore High Court has granted relief to Ramsha Iqbal, sister of actress Momina Iqbal. The court has set aside a decision to register a case against her. Justice Abher Gul heard a petition filed by Ramsha Iqbal. She had challenged the decision to register a case at Bhawana police station. The proposed case involved allegations of breach of trust.

During the hearing, counsel for MPA Saqib Chadhar presented details about money deposited into Ramsha’s bank account. The lawyer said Rs8 million had been deposited on different occasions. The court questioned the reason behind these deposits. It also asked whether the money was provided as a loan or as a gesture of friendship. The lawyer explained that Ramsha Iqbal had planned to travel abroad. He said the money was deposited to show sufficient funds in her bank statement. He also informed the court about a previous relationship involving Momina Iqbal and Saqib Chadhar.

According to the lawyer, Momina Iqbal had previously been engaged to Saqib Chadhar. The court then asked whether any written agreement existed regarding the money deposited into Ramsha’s account. The lawyer responded that the amount was provided as a trust deposit. He maintained that it was not given as a loan. Ramsha Iqbal presented a different position before the court. She maintained that she had withdrawn the disputed amount from her bank account in 2022.

The court reviewed the arguments presented by both sides. It then accepted Ramsha Iqbal’s petition. The Lahore High Court subsequently set aside the decision to register a case against her. The ruling provides legal relief to the sister of Momina Iqbal in the matter. The case involved questions about the purpose of the bank deposits. It also concerned whether the money created grounds for criminal proceedings.
