A man has been apprehended by police for allegedly sexually abusing a private university student over a span of two years by deceiving her with a false promise of marriage.
Following intervention from the authorities, immediate action was taken to detain the suspect, identified as Babar. He had reportedly initiated contact with the student through social media and subsequently manipulated her into a prolonged relationship, during which he sexually exploited her.

According to the Qila Gujjar Singh police, Babar not only misled the victim with empty marital commitments but also subjected her to repeated threats of violence and death to keep her silent. After his arrest, he was transferred to the Gender Cell for further investigation.
Law enforcement officials emphasized that those who exploit or abuse women and children will face strict consequences, with no room for leniency.
In a separate incident earlier this year, a female MPhil student from a private university in Lahore filed a complaint at the Women’s Police Station, accusing three individuals of gang rape. An FIR was registered under the relevant legal provisions, and investigations are ongoing.
