LAHORE โ Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has instructed authorities to launch an immediate and priority-based crackdown on illegal encroachments across the province. She directed full implementation of Ordinance 2025 and emphasized daily monitoring at the district level.
During a meeting in Lahore, Maryam Nawaz stressed that action against illegal occupation must not be delayed. She specifically highlighted the urgent resolution of a destitute widowโs encroachment case and instructed officials to handle all related complaints on a priority basis.
The chief minister warned district administrations against any slowdown in responding to public grievances. She made it clear that transparency and efficiency are essential in tackling land occupation.
Full Implementation of Ordinance 2025
Maryam Nawaz ordered strict enforcement of Ordinance 2025 across Punjab. She emphasized that negligence in land occupation matters could not be tolerated and instructed daily reporting mechanisms to ensure accountability.
Deputy commissioners in all districts have been asked to hold daily meetings on encroachment cases. The CM stated she would personally monitor progress to ensure timely and effective decision-making.
Daily Monitoring and Public Awareness
Daily monitoring of illegal encroachments will be conducted, with detailed reports submitted to Maryam Nawaz every day. The meeting also decided to raise public awareness through announcements in mosques across Punjab, informing citizens about government actions against illegal occupation.
Applications regarding encroachments will now be received at the assistant commissionerโs office in every tehsil, making it easier for citizens to submit complaints.
Addressing Slow Progress
The chief minister expressed dissatisfaction over delays in resolving encroachment cases in districts such as Gujrat, Layyah, and Hafizabad. She stressed that delays undermine public trust and obstruct the governmentโs mission to provide timely relief.

Officials reported that 2,919 applications against illegal encroachment have been received in just three weeks, with 499 cases already resolved by District Dispute Resolution Committees. Maryam Nawaz said the high number of applications reflects public confidence in the governmentโs efforts and highlighted the need for strict monitoring to deliver rapid justice.
