MCB Bank posts profit of Rs. 27.31 billion in H1 2025, showing strong growth in core earnings and balance sheet strength. The bank’s Board of Directors approved the financial results for the first half ended June 30, 2025, during a meeting held under the chairmanship of Shoaib Mumtaz.
According to the official announcement, the bank achieved profit before tax of Rs. 47.8 billion in the first half, marking a 33% year-on-year growth. The after-tax profit reached Rs. 27.31 billion, up by 16% compared to the same period last year. Earnings per share (EPS) stood at Rs. 23.01.
This performance was mainly supported by a 22% increase in net interest income, which reached Rs. 57.9 billion. The growth was attributed to effective asset deployment and a rise in average current account deposits. Non-markup income also showed a slight improvement, standing at Rs. 11.5 billion, with gains in fee, commission, and FX income.
On the cost side, operating expenses increased by 21%, largely due to inflation and investment in technology and compliance infrastructure. Despite this, the bank maintained a strong cost-to-income ratio due to solid revenue growth.
The bank’s total asset base increased to Rs. 2.44 trillion, showing a 7% rise from December 2024. The investment portfolio expanded by Rs. 113 billion, while gross advances remained steady at Rs. 563 billion. On the funding side, the deposit base reached Rs. 1.84 trillion, with current accounts making up over 43% of total deposits.

The Board also declared a second interim cash dividend of Rs. 6 per share, bringing the total payout for the half year to Rs. 12 per share.
