The University of Health Sciences (UHS) has announced that the application deadlines for several medical and dental colleges have been extended to give students more time to apply. The move aims to facilitate applicants and increase participation in public and private institutions.
A UHS spokesperson said candidates seeking admission to public sector medical colleges can now submit their forms until November 30. For private medical colleges, the new deadline is December 15.
The extension was approved during a meeting of the Provincial Admission Committee, chaired by Azmat Mahmood, Secretary of Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education. Vice chancellors of public medical universities also attended the session and contributed to the discussions.
For public sector dental colleges, the application deadline has been revised to December 31. Meanwhile, candidates applying to BDS programs in private dental colleges will have until January 15, 2026, to submit their forms.
The spokesperson noted that the original cut-off date was November 21. However, the colleges extended deadlines to provide students with additional time to complete their applications. This extension is expected to help students who were unable to meet the earlier deadline due to personal or academic reasons.
The Provincial Admission Committee unanimously supported the decision. Officials emphasized that the move ensures wider access to medical and dental programs across the province. By extending the deadlines, the authorities aim to encourage maximum participation and make the admission process more inclusive.
Students are advised to submit their forms before the revised deadlines to avoid last-minute difficulties. The UHS and participating colleges have confirmed that all applications submitted within the new timelines will be considered for the upcoming academic session.
This recent update highlights the commitment of educational authorities to support students and ensure a fair and accessible admission process. With the colleges extended deadlines, more aspiring medical and dental students now have the opportunity to secure a place in their desired programs.
