KARACHI: An accountant linked to Mir Raza Ali’s business appeared before the Judicial Commission on Sunday.

Umar Khan answered questions about the business and its financial records. He also discussed his interactions with Mir Raza Ali and his associates.

During the hearing, the commission asked Khan when he started working with the business.

Khan told the commission that he filed the business’s tax returns in 2024. He also provided details about the preparation of its financial records.

According to Khan, financing services were obtained on July 2, 2026. He said the available data was then processed to prepare the accounts.

Khan also told the commission that he attended a meeting at the North Nazimabad branch on July 16.

The commission asked whether Khan had conducted a complete audit of the business.

He replied that a full month had not passed at the time. He said the financial position could have become clearer with additional time.

Khan further explained that it was difficult to calculate the business’s profits. He said the available financial data was incomplete.

The commission also questioned Khan about his interactions with Mir Raza Ali.

Khan said his communication with Raza was mainly through a WhatsApp group. He was also asked whether Raza had ever appeared worried or distressed.

Khan was questioned about plans to expand the business. He said Raza had discussed possible catering-related activities with him.

The hearing also covered events after Raza’s disappearance.

The commission asked whether Ahmed had given Khan any instructions after Raza went missing. Khan said Abdullah had informed him about Raza’s disappearance.

Khan was also asked if Ahmed contacted him after the Judicial Commission was formed.

He said he had contacted Ahmed himself regarding the filing of tax returns.

Khan also discussed his interaction with police. He said his statement was probably recorded on August 22.

During the proceedings, lawyer Jibran Nasir questioned Khan about Mir Raza Ali Finance.

Nasir asked whether the company had concealed any information from its other partners.

Khan said he had always met both partners together. He said he had never met either partner separately.

Khan also described Mir Raza Ali as someone who did not usually fight or behave rudely.
