The investigation into the death of Mir Raza Ali has entered a new phase after the post-mortem examination confirmed the preliminary cause of death. Karachi police have also detained several individuals for questioning as they continue to investigate the case.
According to the police surgeon, Mir Raza Ali died from hemorrhagic shock. The condition developed after he suffered severe blood loss caused by a single gunshot wound to the chest. Officials said the injury resulted in excessive bleeding that proved fatal.
The post-mortem examination found no evidence that the victim’s body had been burned with fire or acid. However, signs of decomposition were present when the body was examined. Authorities said further laboratory testing and chemical analysis will help determine additional details about the circumstances of the death.
Investigators believe the victim was shot with a .30-bore pistol. However, police have not yet recovered the suspected weapon. The spent bullet casing has also not been found, and investigators are continuing efforts to locate key evidence.
The body of Mir Raza Ali was recovered from bushes near Shahi Qila in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar area. The location is opposite the University of Karachi. Police found the body two days after he was reported missing.
According to investigators, the young businessman was allegedly abducted from his residence in PECHS Block-2 before his body was discovered. Authorities are examining all available evidence to establish the sequence of events leading to his death.
As part of the ongoing investigation, Karachi police have detained 18 individuals for questioning. Officials said the detained persons had already been placed under surveillance during the early stages of the investigation.
Police are recording statements from each individual separately. Investigators hope these interviews will help identify important facts and clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Officials revealed that six of the detained individuals are connected to a guest house that has become part of the investigation. Another five detainees are reported to be close friends of the deceased.
Police have also summoned the business partner of Mir Raza Ali to record a formal statement. Investigators said they are reviewing every possible lead and are not ruling out any angle at this stage.
According to officials, 13 individuals will undergo formal questioning during the current phase of the investigation. Detailed statements are also expected from five key witnesses who may provide further information about the case.
