Mohsin Naqvi Shares Key Updates For Pakistanis Traveling Abroad

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday stated that professional beggars and travelers with incomplete or invalid documents will not be allowed to go abroad. He made the remarks during a visit to Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore, accompanied by Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry.

Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that strict action will be taken against those who tarnish Pakistan’s image abroad. However, he clarified that no passenger will be stopped from traveling without a valid reason. The Interior Minister stressed that protecting Pakistan’s dignity and facilitating passengers are his top priorities.

During the visit, Mohsin Naqvi and Talal Chaudhry inspected immigration counters and reviewed the departure process. They highlighted the importance of proper documentation and smooth airport procedures for overseas travelers.

Earlier this year, the National Assembly Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis was briefed about thousands of Pakistani citizens being deported from various countries over begging and immigration violations. The Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) informed the committee that 51,000 Pakistanis were offloaded at airports in 2025 while attempting to travel abroad.

Saudi Arabia deported 24,000 Pakistani nationals on charges of begging, while Dubai sent back 6,000 Pakistanis for similar reasons. Azerbaijan also returned around 2,000 Pakistani nationals involved in professional begging.

Mohsin Naqvi reiterated the government’s commitment to prevent illegal activities abroad and ensure that overseas travelers comply with international laws. He called on citizens to respect travel regulations and carry complete documentation to avoid complications.

The Interior Minister’s remarks underline the importance of accountability and proper documentation for Pakistanis traveling overseas. Authorities continue to monitor airport operations and immigration procedures to prevent misuse and protect the country’s image abroad.
