An Inspector of the National Highways and Motorways Police lost his life when a truck crashed into a patrolling vehicle on the M4 motorway near Aminpur.
The M4, which runs in a north–south direction, serves as a key connection between Faisalabad and Multan.

According to a police spokesperson, the accident happened because the truck driver had fallen asleep at the wheel. At the time of the collision, the inspector was engaged in briefing commuters on the roadside. He was martyred on the spot.
The spokesperson added that the truck driver was taken into custody and handed over to local police for further legal proceedings.
In a separate incident just a day earlier, 10 people were killed and nine others injured when a speeding trailer struck a van heading to Peshawar on the Indus Highway in Karak district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Rescue teams reported that several passengers were trapped inside the van following the crash. Emergency personnel worked to extract the victims from the wreckage and transported them to the District Headquarters Hospital in Karak for treatment.
