KARACHI – MQM-Pakistan leader Mustafa Kamal has accused MQM founder Altaf Hussain of orchestrating the murder of party leader Imran Farooq. Kamal also alleged that the operation was financed through RAW funding, claiming India’s intelligence agency supported terrorism in Pakistan.
Speaking at a press conference in Karachi, Kamal described Hussain as a “drama king” and said he collected millions of pounds in donations to send Farooq’s body abroad. He added that Hussain exploited funeral proceedings for publicity and celebrated the murder on his own birthday, calling it a “gift” to himself.
Mustafa Kamal stated that RAW funding played a role in halting the Scotland Yard investigation into Farooq’s murder. He criticized Hussain for allegedly using such support to maintain influence over MQM and delay political reforms in Karachi.
Kamal also highlighted Hussain’s decades-long control over the Muhajir community, claiming it caused immense social and political harm. “The so-called leader is a criminal and a traitor who can order killings at will,” Kamal said, accusing Hussain of hindering constitutional and municipal progress.
According to Kamal, Hussain’s actions have obstructed Karachi’s development and contributed to political instability. He said the MQM founder continues to manipulate the party’s narrative from abroad, while RAW funding allegedly enabled him to execute operations with international backing.
The MQM-Pakistan leader urged authorities to take notice of these claims and hold those responsible accountable. He emphasized the need to protect the Muhajir community and ensure that political parties operate within lawful and democratic boundaries.
