ISLAMABAD: NADRA introduces a series of new measures to improve identity verification and public services across Pakistan. The National Database and Registration Authority aims to enhance accuracy, security, and accessibility for citizens.
Officials said NADRA introduces upgrades to its biometric verification system to strengthen citizen records. The new system will help reduce identity fraud and ensure better data protection. Authorities believe these changes will make documentation processes faster and more reliable.
As part of the reforms, NADRA introduces plans to expand its registration centers nationwide. New facilities will be set up in remote and underserved areas. This step is expected to reduce long queues and improve access to services. Citizens in smaller towns will now have easier access to identity-related facilities.
In addition, NADRA is working to connect its database with other government departments. This integration will improve coordination and transparency. Officials say it will also support better governance and faster service delivery.
The authority has also expanded services through e-Sahulat centers. Around 1,000 new franchises have been added, increasing the total to nearly 3,000 centers across the country. Citizens can now access services such as B-Form issuance for children, CNIC renewal, duplicate card processing, and cancellation of ID cards for deceased individuals.
These services are now available in major cities, including Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, and Hyderabad. Many districts across Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir are also covered.
Officials said the goal is to bring services closer to people and reduce pressure on NADRA offices. By expanding digital and physical access points, the authority hopes to improve efficiency and convenience for users.
Experts note that such initiatives reflect a shift toward digital transformation in public services. NADRAโs use of modern technology is expected to strengthen identity management systems and support national security.
