The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) continues to ensure accessibility and convenience for persons with disabilities. On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, NADRA offers special services to help individuals obtain identification without barriers.
NADRA offers free-of-charge special identification cards for persons with disabilities on their first issuance. These cards are valid for life and feature a distinctive mark. Over 1 million such ID cards have been issued to date.
Persons with disabilities can book appointments at NADRA offices through a dedicated helpline. Wheelchairs are available at offices, and processing is done in the executive category to avoid long queues. Priority services with special tokens are also provided to make the process smoother and faster.
The Pak ID mobile app further facilitates disability registration by allowing individuals to schedule appointments online and submit required documents digitally. This reduces the need for multiple visits to the office.
NADRAโs efforts ensure that no person, regardless of the type of disability, is deprived of identity documentation. The authority remains committed to inclusivity and accessibility, highlighting its role in supporting the rights of persons with disabilities.
Other services provided include:
- Executive category processing without waiting in queues
- Wheelchair availability at all NADRA offices
- Appointment booking via helpline and mobile app
- Priority services with special tokens
- Disability registration and issuance of special ID cards
Officials said that NADRA offers these services nationwide to ensure fair and equal access to all citizens. They emphasized that continuous improvements and digital solutions are being implemented to make the registration process more convenient for persons with disabilities.
With these initiatives, NADRA is setting a benchmark for inclusive public service delivery, making identity registration simpler and more accessible for everyone.
