NADRA’s Pak-ID App Crosses 6 Million Users for Digital ID Services in 2025

NADRA’s Pak-ID App Crosses 6 Million Users for Digital ID Services in 2025

ISLAMABAD: More than six million Pakistanis used NADRA’s Pak-ID App in 2025 to obtain identity documents, showing rising trust in digital public services.

In an official statement, the National Database and Registration Authority thanked citizens for their confidence. NADRA said the strong usage reflects a shift toward faster and easier digital services. The authority added that online platforms now play a key role in public service delivery.

According to NADRA, the Pak-ID App has simplified access to identity services across the country. Citizens can now apply without visiting registration centers. This change has reduced waiting times and improved overall convenience.

Officials said the app supports Pakistan’s broader digital transformation goals. It allows users to apply for CNICs, renew documents, and update records remotely. The system is designed to be secure and user-friendly.

NADRA noted that growing adoption of the Pak-ID App shows public acceptance of digital solutions. The authority plans to expand features to cover more services. This will further reduce the need for in-person visits.

Earlier, NADRA also issued a clarification about updating marital status after divorce. The clarification followed questions raised by citizens on social media platforms. NADRA said records can be updated if legal steps are completed.

To change marital status from married to divorced, proper documentation is required. Citizens must first obtain a divorce or khula decree. This decree must be issued by a family court or arbitration council.

After receiving the decree, applicants must visit the Union Council where the marriage was registered. They need to request a computerized divorce certificate. Required documents include CNIC copies, case details, and witness information.

Once the Union Council issues the certificate, individuals must update NADRA records. NADRA clarified that both former spouses must apply separately. Each person must submit the computerized divorce certificate for record changes.

The clarification came after a citizen reported an issue online. Despite having a divorce certificate, the CNIC record still showed “wife.” NADRA explained that records update only after individual submissions.

Officials stressed that digital services work alongside legal procedures. The Pak-ID App helps streamline processes but does not replace legal requirements. Accurate documentation remains essential.

NADRA reaffirmed its commitment to improving digital access nationwide. The authority said technology will continue to enhance service quality. Citizens are encouraged to use verified platforms for official needs.
