National Database and Registration Authority has released a new update for its PakID mobile application.
PakID version 5.7.4 introduces several features designed to improve digital identity services for citizens. The update includes four key improvements covering complaints, family records, signatures and digital identity cards.
NADRA has also invited users to suggest additional features for future versions of the application.
PakID App Gets Dedicated FIA Section
One major addition is a dedicated Federal Investigation Agency section within the PakID app. The section is intended to support the future registration and tracking of FIA-related complaints.
This could give users another digital option for handling relevant complaints through the application.

Adding Family Members Becomes Easier
The latest update also improves the process of managing incomplete family information. Users may sometimes find missing family members on their Family Registration Certificate.
The updated app simplifies the process of adding family members when an FRC contains incomplete family data.
This change could make it easier for citizens to correct or complete their family information. It may also reduce difficulties during applications that depend on accurate family records.
Automatic Signature Cropping Added
Another new feature focuses on signatures submitted during the application process. PakID version 5.7.4 introduces automatic cropping for signatures.
The feature allows users to adjust their signatures more easily while completing an application. This improvement could make document submission more convenient for people using the service remotely.
It also reduces the need for users to manually prepare a perfectly cropped signature before uploading it.
Digital CNIC, NICOP and POC Available
The latest NADRA update also expands access to digital identity documents.
Digital versions of CNICs are now available through the PakID application. Users can also access digital versions of NICOPs and Pakistan Origin Cards through the app.
These digital options are available alongside existing printing and delivery services. The development provides users with another way to access their identity documents through the digital platform.
