How Children Can Get Registered With A B-Form Without Parents

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has clarified that citizens can apply for a Child Registration Certificate (B-Form) even without the presence of the childโ€™s parents. This guidance aims to help families, especially in rural areas, where parents may be unavailable.

The Child Registration Certificate is an essential document required for passport issuance, school admissions, and international travel for children. In some cases, parents fail to apply for the B-Form on time, causing delays in official procedures.

NADRA issued the clarification in response to a social media query about obtaining a CRC for a married sister whose parents were unavailable. The citizen asked if he could apply for the B-Form via the Pak ID app on behalf of his sister, given that their mother had passed away and the father was abroad.

NADRA advised that in such situations, the citizen can apply for the Child Registration Certificate by visiting the nearest NADRA office. Required documents include the sisterโ€™s computerized birth certificate, fatherโ€™s CNIC, motherโ€™s computerized death certificate, and a computerized Nikah Nama along with the husbandโ€™s National ID Card to update marital status.

To prevent such complications, NADRA urged parents to regularly update their childrenโ€™s B-Forms.
Authorities recommend applying for a new CRC when a child turns three years old, as the previously issued certificate expires at that age. Timely application avoids delays in school admissions and other official processes.

Parents can obtain a new Child Registration Certificate either by visiting the nearest NADRA office with the child or by applying conveniently from home using the Pak ID mobile application. NADRA emphasized that proper and timely registration ensures smooth access to essential services and legal documentation for children.

The updated advisory highlights NADRAโ€™s efforts to simplify the process of obtaining and updating the Child Registration Certificate, making it accessible even in the absence of parents. Citizens are encouraged to follow the guidelines to avoid administrative hurdles and secure essential records for their children.
