Najam Sethi Kicks Off ThinkFest 2026 in Lahore with Inspiring Keynote

Lahore witnessed the grand opening of ThinkFest 2026 at the Alhamra Arts Council, with Najam Sethi delivering the inaugural address. The chairman welcomed attendees to the three-day festival, describing it as a major platform for ideas, dialogue, and international collaboration.

Najam Sethi highlighted the growth of ThinkFest into a significant public forum over the years. He praised institutional support, partnerships, and sponsorships that have made the event possible. Sethi emphasized that backing from corporate institutions, banks, foundations, and diplomatic missions was crucial for the festival’s success.

Prominent sponsors were acknowledged during the opening. Sethi mentioned Habib Bank Limited, noting its past support of major national initiatives, including the Pakistan Super League. He thanked Chairman Sultan Ali Allana and his team for supporting ThinkFest once again. The National Bank of Pakistan and Bank of Punjab also received special recognition for their continued contributions.

Najam Sethi further extended thanks to diplomatic partners. Representatives from the European Union Delegation, Canadian High Commission, Embassy of the Netherlands, Embassy of France, and Embassy of Germany were acknowledged for their support of cultural and intellectual exchange. He also recognized local supporters, including Indus Enclave, for hosting events and ensuring smooth festival operations.

During his address, Sethi introduced the opening keynote speaker, Professor Vali Nasr of Johns Hopkins University. He outlined Nasr’s credentials in international affairs and Middle East studies, and highlighted his advisory roles to senior US policymakers. Sethi also drew attention to Nasr’s latest book, Iran’s Grand Strategy, calling it timely given global interest in regional affairs.

Najam Sethi’s speech formally opened ThinkFest 2026, setting the stage for three days of intellectual discussions, debates, and cultural activities in Lahore. Attendees will engage with global speakers and explore topics spanning politics, economy, technology, and culture.
