National Assembly Introduces New Social Media Guidelines for MNAsThe National Assembly has rolled out strict new rules governing how Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) can access and share media content from parliamentary sessions.
A circular issued by the Assembly Secretariat now requires MNAs to obtain all official visuals—photos and videos—exclusively from the National Assembly’s verified Facebook page. They will no longer be allowed to request media files directly from the assembly’s media wing or record their own coverage during House proceedings.

Officials stated the move is designed to protect the integrity and decorum of the parliamentary process and to ensure consistent public representation.
The policy also bars MNAs from individually documenting House proceedings, centralising all visual output through official social media channels only.
