The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has connected police emergency 15 call systems with its services. The initiative aims to make reporting cybercrime easier for citizens across Pakistan.

NCCIA Director General Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi announced the development. He said emergency 15 systems in different provinces and major cities had been linked with the agency.

According to an NCCIA official, the integration will improve the handling of cybercrime complaints. Reports received through police emergency 15 services can now be forwarded to the agency for necessary action.

The move aims to help citizens report online fraud and other cybercrime incidents through existing emergency channels. It will also improve coordination between police services and the cybercrime investigation agency.

NCCIA Aims to Improve Public Access

DG Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi described the integration as an important step towards improving public access to cybercrime complaint services.

The arrangement is expected to make the reporting process more convenient. Citizens will be able to use familiar emergency call systems to report relevant incidents.

The initiative also seeks to ensure that complaints reach the appropriate authorities. Better coordination between police emergency services and NCCIA could help streamline the initial reporting process.

Cybercrime cases can involve online financial fraud and other digital offences. Easier access to reporting channels may help citizens seek assistance when such incidents occur.

The agency has highlighted the importance of addressing public complaints and taking action against people involved in cybercrime. However, the integration is intended to improve complaint access and coordination rather than replace existing investigation procedures.

NCCIA Recovers Rs82,000 in Online Fraud Case

In a separate development, the NCCIA Islamabad Circle recovered Rs82,000 lost by a woman in an online fraud case. The agency returned the recovered amount to her.

An NCCIA official said the Islamabad Circle acted on the woman’s financial complaint. The agency then successfully recovered the money lost through cyber fraud.

The recovery highlights the agency’s work on financial complaints submitted by citizens. According to the official, NCCIA is working to resolve such cases and pursue legal action against individuals involved in cybercrime.

Online financial fraud can cause financial losses and distress for victims. Recovering the money can provide relief to affected individuals and help restore their confidence in complaint mechanisms.

The official did not provide further details about the fraud method or the people allegedly responsible. No additional information was shared about possible arrests or legal proceedings in the case.

Greater Coordination to Address Cybercrime

Connecting police emergency 15 services with NCCIA represents an effort to improve access to cybercrime reporting across Pakistan.

The initiative may help citizens reach the relevant agency through existing police channels. Meanwhile, the recovery of Rs82,000 demonstrates the agency’s response to at least one financial fraud complaint.

Both developments focus on improving public assistance in cybercrime cases. Easier reporting and timely action remain important for people affected by online scams and other digital offences.

Citizens who experience cybercrime can use the available official reporting channels to seek assistance. They should also preserve relevant evidence, including transaction records and messages, to support their complaints.
