NCCIA Raids Suspected Illegal Call Center in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) raided a suspected illegal Call Center in Islamabad’s G-9 sector.

However, the staff reportedly escaped before the investigation team reached the premises. They also took the equipment and computer systems with them.

According to officials, the NCCIA received secret information about the alleged illegal Call Center. Acting on the information, the agency launched an operation at the suspected location.

When the team arrived, the building was empty. Officials said the staff had already left the premises.

The employees reportedly removed all systems and other equipment before fleeing. This left investigators without access to the suspected operation’s main equipment.

The raid was conducted as part of the NCCIA’s efforts against illegal cyber-related activities. The agency has been investigating suspected call centres involved in unlawful operations.

The latest operation took place in the G-9 sector of Islamabad. Officials are expected to examine available information to determine the nature of the suspected activities.

During the same operation, the NCCIA forensic team inspected digital devices at another nearby company.

The company, Blue Sky Financial Services, operates in an adjacent building. Investigators conducted a detailed forensic examination of its digital systems and devices.

The inspection was carried out to determine whether the company was involved in any illegal activity.

Following the forensic review, investigators found no evidence of unlawful activity at Blue Sky Financial Services.

The NCCIA subsequently declared the company’s operations fully legal. The agency confirmed that no illegal activity was found during its examination.

The development highlights the agency’s ongoing focus on suspected illegal Call Center operations. It also shows that investigators are checking digital systems during such operations.

The NCCIA has been conducting raids based on intelligence regarding suspected cybercrime activities. Such investigations can involve the examination of computer systems and other digital devices.

In this case, the suspected premises had been cleared before the agency arrived. The staff also managed to remove the equipment from the building.

Meanwhile, the forensic examination of Blue Sky Financial Services did not reveal any unlawful activity. The company was therefore cleared by the agency after the investigation.
