Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced the Nigehban Ramadan Package, a major relief initiative aimed at supporting 4.2 million low-income families across the province. Each eligible household will receive Rs10,000 in cash, along with special Nigehban Cards to access funds conveniently.
The government has ensured smooth delivery through door-to-door distribution by district administrations, leaving no family behind. To activate their cards, recipients can visit 136 designated activation centres or use Bank of Punjab ATMs. A dedicated monitoring dashboard will track the programme in real time, while a counter-verification system will contact cardholders directly to ensure transparency and accuracy.
As part of the Nigehban Ramadan Package, the Punjab administration has also launched community-focused initiatives. Eight “Maryam ke Mehman” centres will operate in each tehsil, providing daily iftar meals to 2,000 fasting individuals throughout the holy month. Additionally, the programme includes the CM Ration Card and Sasta Bazaars to make essentials more affordable for struggling families.
CM Maryam Nawaz emphasized that the initiative is designed to make Ramadan easier and more meaningful for every household in Punjab. She said the combination of cash assistance, food support, and community care reflects the spirit of the holy month and ensures that low-income families can celebrate with dignity.
The Nigehban Ramadan Package is part of a broader government effort to deliver relief efficiently and transparently. With real-time monitoring, verification, and multiple activation options, the programme aims to set a new standard in public welfare. Families across Punjab are already expressing gratitude for the initiative, highlighting its impact on both financial stability and social support during Ramadan.
