No Fuel Shortage in Pakistan, Assures Finance Minister Aurangzeb

Pakistan currently has enough Fuel reserves to meet domestic demand, according to the country’s finance minister. The statement was made to address concerns about possible shortages in the energy sector.

Muhammad Aurangzeb confirmed that the country maintains sufficient petroleum reserves to support daily needs. He said the available Fuel stock is enough to avoid any immediate supply problems.

The finance minister shared these details during a meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Finance. The session was chaired by Saleem Mandviwalla.

Petroleum reserves cover 28 days

During the meeting, officials informed lawmakers that Pakistan currently holds petroleum reserves that can last for 28 days. These reserves include several types of petroleum products used for transport and industry.

Aurangzeb said the government closely monitors the Fuel supply situation. Authorities are working to maintain stable reserves and prevent disruptions in the market.

He added that liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) stocks are also secure. According to the briefing, LPG reserves are available for an additional 15 days.

Officials believe these reserves will help ensure stability in the energy market. Maintaining adequate Fuel supplies is considered essential for economic stability and public confidence.

LNG import halt addressed

The finance minister also addressed concerns about the temporary suspension of liquefied natural gas (LNG) imports from Qatar.

Aurangzeb explained that the shortfall would be managed through increased use of locally produced gas. This step is expected to prevent interruptions in energy supply.

Energy officials believe the adjustment will help maintain consistent availability of Fuel and gas for consumers and industries.

Economic briefing presented

The committee meeting also included a broader discussion about Pakistan’s economic situation. Senior officials from the finance ministry attended the session.

State Bank of Pakistan representatives were also present to provide updates on economic conditions.

Aurangzeb emphasized that the government remains focused on strengthening energy security. He said authorities are working to prevent any potential supply crisis.

Government aims to maintain stability

The finance minister reassured lawmakers that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure reliable Fuel availability. Authorities continue to review supply levels and import arrangements regularly.

Officials say maintaining strong reserves will protect the country from sudden market disruptions. This approach also helps shield the economy from external shocks.

Experts note that stable Fuel reserves are essential for transportation, industry, and electricity generation. Ensuring continuous supply remains a top priority for policymakers.
