Four terrorists were killed after launching an attack on the battalion headquarters in Boya, North Waziristan, authorities confirmed.
The attackers, reportedly linked to the TTP, began their assault on Tuesday morning. A suicide bomber drove an explosives-laden vehicle into the outer wall of the Boya fort, causing a powerful blast. The explosion was so intense that it was heard as far as Miranshah, nearly 25 km away.
Following the blast, four to five militants attempted to infiltrate the fort. Security forces responded swiftly, killing three militants on the spot. The remaining attacker was surrounded, and a clearance operation was carried out. Only the outer wall of the battalion headquarters sustained damage.
During the clash, four security personnel sustained injuries. They were provided immediate medical attention by teams from Rescue 1122 and local hospitals. Bomb disposal squads conducted a thorough sweep of the area to ensure no additional explosives were present.
Traffic on a nearby highway was temporarily suspended, and security measures across North Waziristan were heightened following the incident. Authorities emphasized that the swift response prevented further casualties and potential damage.
Officials said the attack comes amid a rise in militant activity in the region. Investigations are ongoing to identify possible accomplices and understand the planning behind the assault.
The operation underscores the preparedness of security forces in North Waziristan and their ability to respond quickly to threats against military installations. Local residents were advised to remain vigilant while security agencies continue monitoring the area for any suspicious activity.
