Opposition Leader Appeals to PM on PTI Founder’s Health Condition

ISLAMABAD – Leader of the Opposition Mahmood Khan Achakzai has written a letter to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressing concern over the health of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan.

In the letter, Achakzai urged the Prime Minister to allow Imran Khan a full medical examination by his personal doctors while he remains in Adiala Jail. He highlighted that the absence of family members and private physicians during previous medical checkups is a serious concern.

The opposition leader emphasized that Imran Khan’s health is a matter of basic human rights. He requested immediate intervention from the federal government to ensure proper medical care for the former Prime Minister.

Achakzai recommended that doctors from Shaukat Khanum Hospital and Shifa International Hospital examine Imran Khan. He also proposed the inclusion of Imran Khan’s personal physicians, including Dr. Muhammad Asim Yousaf, Prof. Dr. Mazhar Ishaq, and Prof. Dr. Amir Awan, to ensure transparency and proper care.

The letter stressed the need for family members and private doctors to have full access during medical examinations. Achakzai noted that this step is critical to maintain accountability and ensure that the PTI founder receives adequate treatment.

Officials confirmed that the letter has been formally received by the Prime Minister’s office. It is expected that the federal government will review the request and take necessary action to address the health concerns of the PTI founder.

This development comes amid growing public attention to Imran Khan’s condition. The PTI leadership and supporters have repeatedly called for his medical rights to be respected. Authorities have yet to release an official update on the former Prime Minister’s current health status.
