Over 43 kg of Drugs Seized in Anti-Narcotics Operation Targeting International Flights

Authorities have seized large amounts of Drugs from passengers heading to Saudi Arabia and Dubai as part of ongoing anti-smuggling efforts, according to the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF).

Nationwide operations led to nine arrests and the recovery of over 43 kilograms of drugs in nine separate incidents. At Karachi Airport, 3.1 kilograms of crystal meth and 1,208 narcotic pills were seized from passengers en route to Saudi Arabia and Dubai.

In Multan, 25 kilograms of hashish were confiscated, while near Peshawar’s Ring Road, six kilograms of hashish and 900 grams of opium were recovered. Hyderabad saw the seizure of three kilograms of hashish, and near Peshawar University, 3.6 kilograms of hashish and 300 narcotic pills were found.

Additionally, 920 grams of crystal meth were discovered near the Islamabad M2 Toll Plaza, and 520 grams of hashish were seized in Gilgit.

The ANF has charged the suspects under the Anti-Narcotics Act and is conducting further investigations. Separately, Multan Airport’s Airport Security Force (ASF) intercepted a passenger bound for Jeddah, finding 804 grams of liquid crystal meth concealed in shampoo bottles.

The drugs and suspect, Abdul Majeed, were handed over to ANF for further legal proceedings.
