Over 700,000 Pakistanis Left Pakistan for Overseas Job Opportunities

In the fiscal year 2024, over 700,000 Pakistanis sought better job prospects abroad, as per official figures released by the Bureau of Immigration and Overseas Employment.

According to the data, 789,837 individuals left Pakistan in pursuit of improved employment opportunities, whereas 811,469 had done so in the preceding fiscal year 2023. Abdul Shakoor, Deputy Director of the Bureau of Immigration, highlighted challenges in visa issuance from Saudi Arabia during fiscal year 2024.

He noted that the United Arab Emirates issued visas for professional categories during this period, and there was also growing demand for skilled workers in the USA and Europe.
