Pakistan Airport Authority Signs Jet Fuel Supply Deal With PSO

The Pakistan Airport Authority has signed an agreement to receive aviation-grade fuel for its two flight inspection aircraft.

Under the deal, Pakistan State Oil will ensure timely delivery of fuel for the aircraft operated by the Pakistan Airport Authority. The authority said this arrangement will help maintain safe and reliable air navigation services at airports nationwide.

The Pakistan Airport Authority currently operates two aircraft dedicated to calibration purposes. These aircraft play a key role in ensuring that air traffic systems function efficiently across the country.

On average, the Pakistan Airport Authority facilitates 400 to 450 overflights through Pakistanโ€™s airspace daily. Overflight fees are calculated based on the aircraftโ€™s maximum takeoff weight (MTOW), ranging between $0.44 and $1.30 per kilometer. The authority does not charge passengers any taxes, as excise duties are collected directly by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

In addition to overflight and landing charges, the Pakistan Airport Authority collects airport fees from departing passengers. Domestic passengers pay PKR 600, while international travelers are charged PKR 4,600. These funds contribute significantly to PAAโ€™s revenue and are reinvested into improving airport infrastructure, passenger services, and operational efficiency.

The revenue supports terminal upgrades, facility expansion, modernization of equipment, and initiatives to enhance safety and comfort for passengers. Landing fees are determined based on MTOW, while parking charges are applied per ton, per hour, with the first two hours free for both domestic and international aircraft. No additional takeoff or double charges apply.

The Pakistan Airport Authority emphasized that this fuel supply agreement will strengthen operational reliability, improve air navigation services, and support ongoing modernization efforts across all airports under its management.
