Pakistan and China have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral relations and deepening their strategic partnership, according to a statement from Pakistan’s Foreign Office (FO) on Tuesday. This development follows a high-level meeting between China’s Ambassador, Jiang Zaidong, and Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Ishaq Dar, in Islamabad.
The FO emphasized that both nations remain steadfast in their mutual cooperation, dismissing recent allegations questioning Pakistan’s commitment to China’s policies as “baseless and unfounded.” The statement reiterated that China continues to be Pakistan’s “all-weather strategic partner,” highlighting the enduring strength of their alliance.

China has been a key partner in Pakistanโs development, particularly through investments such as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which has been hailed as a cornerstone of Pakistanโs economic progress. CPEC, often referred to as a “lifeline” for Pakistanโs economy, has facilitated infrastructure development and strengthened economic ties between the two nations.
During the meeting, Dar and Zaidong reviewed the progress of CPEC 2.0 and agreed to work closely to further enhance the strategic partnership. Both sides reaffirmed that the Pak-China All-Weather Strategic Partnership would continue to serve as the foundation for future collaboration.
