Pakistan has expressed full support for the peace efforts led by Saudi Arabia to stabilize Yemen. The Foreign Office spokesperson said on Saturday that Pakistan closely follows developments in the country and commends the UAE’s role in promoting peace.
“We urge all Yemeni parties to engage constructively and in good faith towards an inclusive, negotiated political solution,” the spokesperson said. Pakistan emphasized that unity and territorial integrity must be upheld to prevent further escalation.
The statement highlighted Pakistan’s hope that ongoing peace efforts will lead to tangible progress and bring an end to the suffering of the Yemeni people. Officials stressed that unilateral actions could undermine diplomatic initiatives and prolong instability.
Meanwhile, Yemen’s Saudi-led coalition warned that any military actions by the main southern separatist group, the Southern Transitional Council (STC), in Hadramout province could be met with decisive measures to protect civilians. General Turki al-Malki, the coalition spokesperson, said this response follows requests from Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council head, Rashad al-Alimi, to prevent violations by STC-affiliated armed groups.
The STC, backed by the UAE, recently seized control of several southern areas, including Aden. Despite Saudi calls for withdrawal, the group has refused to pull back from areas it captured earlier this month, stating it will continue securing Hadramout and Mahra provinces.
Pakistan reiterated that constructive dialogue and respect for internationally agreed parameters are essential for long-term stability. The country also praised Saudi Arabia and the UAE for coordinating peace efforts and urged Yemeni stakeholders to avoid actions that could threaten ongoing diplomatic initiatives.
With tensions remaining high, Pakistan continues to support measures that protect civilians and encourage negotiation. Officials expressed hope that the collaborative peace efforts in Yemen will pave the way for a sustainable resolution to the conflict.
