Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stressed the urgent need for national unity, saying that “Pakistan cannot progress without eliminating sectarianism: PM.” He made these remarks while addressing a ceremony focused on interfaith harmony and social peace. The prime minister warned that divisions within society weaken the country and delay economic recovery.
He stated that no nation can develop when its people are divided by sectarian differences. According to him, internal conflicts drain national strength and distract from issues that require immediate attention, such as inflation, unemployment, and security challenges. The prime minister added that “Pakistan cannot progress without eliminating sectarianism: PM,” repeating that unity is the only way forward.
During his speech, he highlighted the government’s efforts to promote harmony among all religious and sectarian groups. He noted that scholars from different schools of thought must work together to teach tolerance and mutual respect. The prime minister also called for strict action against elements who attempt to create unrest through hate speech or misinformation.
He further said that economic stability depends on internal peace. Investors look for safe and cooperative environments, and sectarian violence creates fear and instability. The prime minister emphasized that “Pakistan cannot progress without eliminating sectarianism: PM,” urging citizens to reject any calls for division and support national cohesion.
Officials attending the event praised the prime minister’s stance and agreed that ongoing social tensions harm Pakistan’s international image. They expressed hope that communities will strengthen ties and support the government’s initiatives.
The prime minister concluded his address by saying that Pakistan’s future depends on unity and responsible citizenship. He urged youth, religious leaders, and civil society to play an active role in promoting peace. He expressed confidence that with collective effort, the country can defeat hate, reduce violence, and move toward a stronger and more stable future.
