Pakistan Lights Up as New Year 2026 Arrives with Fireworks and Festivities Nationwide

KARACHI โ€“ People across Pakistan welcomed New Year 2026 with celebrations, fireworks, and public gatherings in major cities. Despite cold weather and rain in some areas, citizens participated enthusiastically in welcoming the new year.

In Karachi, a grand New Year 2026 ceremony was held at the Governor House. Fireworks lit up the night sky at midnight, creating a festive atmosphere. A large number of people attended the event and celebrated the arrival of the new year with enthusiasm.

Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab also joined the celebrations at Bagh Ibn-e-Qasim. A musical night was arranged for the public. Singers performed folk songs in different regional languages. The performances were followed by a fireworks display exactly at midnight. Families, youth, and children gathered to enjoy the event in an organized setting.

Islamabad also witnessed lively celebrations to welcome New Year 2026. Citizens came out of their homes late at night to take part in the festivities. A colorful fireworks display was held at the Emirates Downtown building on the Expressway. The sky was illuminated with bright and vibrant colors.

Rain and cold weather were present in the federal capital. However, the weather did not discourage the public. Light drizzle turned into heavy rain at times. Even then, women, children, and young people gathered on the Expressway. Many were seen wearing warm clothes and carrying umbrellas.

Young motorcycle riders also showed strong enthusiasm in Islamabad. A large number of riders gathered near the Sawan Garden Gate. The rain and cold did not affect their energy or participation.

In Lahore, New Year celebrations were held at Liberty Chowk. A large crowd gathered to witness the fireworks display. The event was arranged by the Punjab government. The fireworks marked the start of the new year and attracted people from different parts of the city.

To ensure public safety, strict security measures were taken in Lahore. A heavy police presence was deployed at Liberty Chowk. Traffic wardens were also present to manage traffic flow and prevent congestion.
