Pakistan Demands Extradition of Militant Leader After Bannu Attack

Azaz Syed has made some important revelations following the Bannu attack on the military convoy. In response to the recent November 26th attack on security forces in Bannu, Pakistan has formally demanded the arrest and extradition of militant figure Hafiz Gul Bahadur from Afghanistan. Islamabad’s stern stance was conveyed through a meeting with the Afghan Embassy Representative at the Foreign Office in Islamabad. Pakistan strongly condemned the attack and called for immediate action against the responsible elements.

The Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group claimed responsibility for the assault, prompting a swift and firm response from Pakistani authorities. During the meeting, Pakistan articulated four key points to the Afghan representative as part of its stance:

  1. Thorough Investigation and Action: Pakistan urged Afghanistan to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the Bannu attack and take decisive action against both the perpetrators and any accomplices involved.
  2. Swift Measures Against Terrorism: Immediate and verifiable actions were demanded against all terrorist outfits and their hideouts, emphasizing the need for proactive steps to curb terrorist activities.
  3. Extradition of Hafiz Gul Bahadar: The explicit demand was made for the apprehension of Hafiz Gul Bahadar and his subsequent extradition to Pakistan to face justice in connection to the attack.
  4. Prevention of Terrorism from Afghan Soil: Pakistan emphasized the necessity of preventing the misuse of Afghan territory for orchestrating and perpetrating terrorist activities against Pakistan.

The firm messaging from Islamabad underscores the gravity of the situation and Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to curbing terrorism and ensuring the safety and security of its citizens and security forces.
