Pakistan has denied reports circulating on social media claiming that its Diplomatic Mission in Afghanistan has been asked to leave the country. Diplomatic sources said the reports are baseless and not supported by any official information.
According to officials, no instructions have been issued for Pakistan’s Diplomatic Mission to withdraw from Afghanistan. They clarified that such decisions are not made through rumors or informal channels. Any change in diplomatic relations is communicated through official government procedures.
Sources confirmed that Pakistan’s ambassador to Afghanistan, Ubaid Nizamani, is currently present in Kabul. The Pakistani embassy in the Afghan capital is operating normally. At the same time, Pakistani consulates located in other Afghan cities are also continuing their regular activities.
Officials emphasized that the Diplomatic Mission remains fully functional. Visa services for Afghan citizens are still being provided through the Pakistani embassy. Afghan nationals who wish to travel to Pakistan can continue submitting visa applications through normal procedures.
The clarification came after social media posts suggested that Pakistan might close its embassy or withdraw diplomatic staff from Afghanistan. These claims quickly spread online and created confusion among the public.
Diplomatic sources rejected the speculation and said there has been no official decision regarding the closure or relocation of the Diplomatic Mission. They stressed that both countries follow international diplomatic protocols when dealing with such matters.
Officials also stated that Pakistan values diplomatic engagement and communication with neighboring countries. Maintaining diplomatic presence helps address bilateral issues and supports cooperation between governments.
However, sources noted that Pakistan would respond appropriately if any step is taken that goes against diplomatic norms. For now, they said, there is no indication of such a situation.
The government has urged the public to rely on official statements instead of unverified social media reports. Diplomatic matters, officials added, require accurate information and careful communication.
