Pakistan-Egypt Joint Exercise Thunder-II Concludes in Cherat

RAWALPINDI โ€“ The Pakistan-Egypt joint military exercise Thunder-II has concluded successfully in Cherat, Pakistan. The exercise focused on counterterrorism operations and lasted for two weeks.

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the training aimed to improve coordination between the armed forces of both countries. The Pakistan-Egypt collaboration helped refine drills, techniques, and operational procedures through joint practice.

Elite combat teams took part in the exercise. Soldiers from the Special Services Group (SSG) of the Pakistan Army trained alongside the Egyptian Special Forces. Both sides demonstrated strong professionalism and high-level operational skills during the drills.

The exercise included various counterterrorism scenarios. These activities were designed to simulate real-life challenges. The goal was to enhance quick response and teamwork in complex situations.

The closing ceremony was attended by senior military officials. The General Officer Commanding of the Special Services Group was the chief guest at the event. Egypt was represented by Commander of the Paratroopers, Major General Mohamed Saad Abdel Razik. The Defence Attachรฉ of Egypt also attended the ceremony.

Officials said the exercise highlighted the growing defence cooperation between the two countries. The Pakistan-Egypt partnership continues to strengthen through such joint initiatives.

Military observers noted that exercises like Thunder-II play an important role in building trust. They also help improve coordination during joint operations. Both nations share common goals in fighting terrorism and ensuring regional stability.
