Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur held a crucial meeting on Friday to address the escalating law and order situation in Kurram district. The region has witnessed weeks of violent clashes, resulting in over 130 deaths, with many more injured or displaced since last month.
During the meeting, Naqvi assured the KP government of full cooperation and emphasized the need to enhance the capabilities of law enforcement agencies in the province. He reaffirmed that restoring peace in Kurram was a top priority and called for the development of a long-term peace strategy that includes input from all relevant stakeholders.

Both leaders also honored the sacrifices of security personnel martyred in the fight against terrorism. The apex committee meeting, scheduled for later today, will bring together senior civil and military officials, as well as provincial cabinet members and district representatives, to discuss critical measures for stabilizing the region.
In addition to security concerns, CM Gandapur announced that wheat would be provided to Kurram residents at subsidized rates to help alleviate the hardship faced by the local population. Immediate actions were ordered to ensure the timely delivery of this aid.
