The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has issued a new health advisory for Hajj pilgrims to ensure their safety during the pilgrimage.
According to the advisory, individuals with serious or complicated illnesses will not be allowed to travel for Hajj. Pilgrims with advanced cancer, severe heart disease, or heart failure are restricted from performing the journey.
The advisory also bars those suffering from kidney disorders, chronic respiratory conditions, severe lung disease, serious neurological disorders, and severe liver disease from undertaking Hajj. Authorities emphasized that these measures are critical to protect pilgrimsโ health.
The ministry warned that submitting fake or incorrect medical certificates will result in legal consequences. Pilgrims are urged to follow Saudi regulations strictly, as any violations may lead to strict action under Saudi law.
Officials highlighted the importance of personal health management during the pilgrimage. The health advisory encourages all pilgrims to take extra care of their well-being and comply fully with rules set by the Saudi authorities.
In addition to the medical guidance, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has decided to fully digitalize Hajj operations for 2026. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with the Ministry of Information Technology to implement the digital system.
Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousuf and Federal Minister of Information Technology Shiza Fatima attended the signing ceremony. Sardar Muhammad Yousuf stated that the digital system will make the Hajj process more transparent and accessible while reducing delays and human errors.
The new digital platform will also help Pakistan meet international standards for Hajj management. Authorities believe that combining technological solutions with strict adherence to the health advisory will enhance safety and convenience for all pilgrims.
Pilgrims are advised to review the health advisory carefully before traveling and ensure all medical requirements are met to avoid complications during Hajj.
