Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced new payment instructions for pilgrims planning to perform Private Hajj in 2027.
The ministry has advised intending pilgrims not to make cash payments to individuals or private Hajj operators.
Instead, pilgrims should make payments through the government’s designated digital payment platform.
Officials said the measure aims to protect pilgrims from financial fraud. It will also help authorities monitor private Hajj operators more effectively.
Pilgrims Advised to Avoid Cash Payments
The ministry has urged pilgrims to follow only the official payment procedure for Hajj 2027.
People should avoid transferring money through unauthorized individuals or unofficial payment channels.
Authorities warned that payments made outside the approved system could put pilgrims’ money at risk.
Such transactions may also expose intending pilgrims to scams and other financial problems.
The ministry has therefore encouraged applicants to verify all arrangements before making payments.
Only Licensed Hajj Operators Should Be Selected
People planning Private Hajj have also been advised to choose officially licensed Hajj operators.
Pilgrims should confirm an operator’s official status before making travel or accommodation arrangements.
The instructions are intended to provide greater financial protection during the Hajj application and preparation process.
Private operators handle travel arrangements for a significant number of Pakistani pilgrims each year.
The government’s new instructions seek to ensure greater transparency in payments made through the private scheme.
Pakistan Gets Hajj 2027 Quota
Pakistan has received a total Hajj quota of 179,210 pilgrims for 2027.
Of the total allocation, 71,684 people will be allowed to perform Hajj through the private scheme.
The remaining quota will be allocated to pilgrims travelling under the government Hajj scheme.
This means thousands of applicants will rely on private operators for their Hajj arrangements.
The ministry’s payment instructions are therefore important for people choosing the Private Hajj option.
Authorities Seek to Protect Pilgrims
The latest warning follows problems faced by Pakistani pilgrims during previous Hajj arrangements.
Around 67,000 Pakistani pilgrims were unable to travel for Hajj in 2025 due to various reasons.
The situation highlighted the importance of following official procedures when arranging Hajj travel.
For Hajj 2027, authorities are urging prospective pilgrims to use approved payment channels and licensed operators.
