Pakistan Post has announced revised charges for several domestic services, with the new rates coming into effect from October 1. The updated tariffs will apply to customers using counter-based postal facilities across the country.
The revised prices were approved by the Pakistan Postal Services Management Board during a meeting held on August 12. The changes cover ordinary letters, registered mail, value-payable letters, and parcels.
Under the new tariff structure, an ordinary letter weighing up to 20 grams will cost Rs40. Letters weighing up to 50 grams will have a postage fee of Rs80. The charges will increase to Rs100 for letters up to 100 grams.
For heavier letters, customers will pay Rs140 for up to 250 grams and Rs170 for up to 500 grams. Letters weighing up to 1kg will cost Rs250, while the charges for 1.5kg and 2kg letters will be Rs320 and Rs400 respectively.
The registration fee for letters has also been revised to Rs40. A registered letter weighing up to 20 grams will cost Rs80, including the registration charges. The fee will rise to Rs120 for letters up to 50 grams and Rs140 for letters up to 100 grams.
For registered letters weighing up to 250 grams, customers will pay Rs180. The charges will increase to Rs210 for up to 500 grams, Rs290 for up to 1kg, Rs360 for up to 1.5kg, and Rs440 for up to 2kg.
Pakistan Post has also updated charges for value-payable letters. Customers will need to pay an additional Rs20 fee along with regular postage and registration charges. The total cost will vary depending on the weight of the letter.
The revised Postal Service rates also include changes for registered parcels. The registration fee for parcels has been set at Rs80. A registered parcel weighing up to 1kg will cost Rs260.
Parcels up to 3kg will cost Rs400, while packages up to 5kg and 10kg will be charged Rs540 and Rs760 respectively. Heavier parcels will have different rates, including Rs980 for up to 15kg and Rs1,210 for up to 20kg.
For parcels weighing up to 25kg, the charge has been fixed at Rs1,440. Parcels up to 30kg will cost Rs1,660. Any parcel exceeding 30kg will carry an additional charge of Rs30 per kilogram.
