Pakistan has sent a fresh consignment to Gaza, reaffirming its commitment to supporting families affected by the ongoing humanitarian crisis. The shipment was dispatched from Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore and is being routed to Gaza via Egypt.
The aid was sent on the directives of the Prime Minister in partnership with the Al-Khidmat Foundation. A chartered aircraft carried essential non-food relief items, including tents, tarpaulin sheets, and jerry cans, to help displaced and affected families in the Palestinian enclave.
A send-off ceremony marked the departure of the consignment to Gaza, attended by Federal Minister for Public Affairs Rana Mubashir Iqbal, alongside officials from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), and representatives of Al-Khidmat Foundation.
The humanitarian shipment comes as the UN Security Council voted on Monday to adopt a US-drafted resolution endorsing President Donald Trumpโs plan to end the war in Gaza. The resolution also authorizes an international stabilization force for the region, aiming to oversee reconstruction and economic recovery.
Israel and Hamas agreed last month to the first phase of Trumpโs 20-point plan, which includes a ceasefire and a hostage-release deal. The UN resolution is seen as essential for legitimizing the transitional governance authority and reassuring countries willing to participate in reconstruction efforts.
The resolution authorizes member states to take part in the Trump-chaired Board of Peace, envisioned as a transitional authority overseeing Gazaโs recovery. It also supports the deployment of the international stabilization force, tasked with demilitarizing the area, decommissioning weapons, and dismantling military infrastructure.
This latest consignment to Gaza highlights Pakistanโs ongoing humanitarian support and collaboration with international partners to aid civilians in conflict-affected regions. Authorities emphasized the importance of timely assistance to ensure the safety and welfare of vulnerable populations in Gaza.
