Pakistan Weather Update: More Rainfall Expected in Multiple Regions

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted the likelihood of more rainfall in various parts of the country in the next 24 hours. According to the weather report, rain-wind thundershowers are expected in Punjab, Islamabad, the Potohar region, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, northeast and east Balochistan, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

There is also a possibility of isolated heavy falls, accompanied by hailstorms, in Kashmir, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and south Punjab.

The synoptic situation indicates the presence of a seasonal low over northeast Balochistan, while a westerly wave is affecting the upper and western regions of the country.

In the past 24 hours, rain, wind, and thunderstorms were experienced in Punjab, Islamabad, the Potohar region, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, north/east Balochistan, and Kashmir. Notable rainfall measurements during this period include Lahore (Airport 255mm, Lakshmi Chowk 241mm, Pani Wala Talab 236mm), Sialkot (City 89mm, Airport 76mm), Islamabad (Airport 77mm, City 56mm), Jhelum 67mm, Kasur 62mm, Narowal 58mm, and Rawalpindi (Chaklala 55mm).

In Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, significant rainfall was recorded in Mardan (81mm), Bannu (41mm), and Peshawar Airport (37mm). In Kashmir, Rawalakot received 40mm of rainfall, while Muzaffarabad recorded 33mm in the city and 25mm at the airport.

Balochistan experienced moderate rainfall in places such as Bar Khan (33mm) and Khuzdar (26mm). Gilgit-Baltistan also witnessed some precipitation, with Bagrote receiving 5mm and Gilgit receiving 3mm.

In terms of maximum temperatures, Nokkundi and Dalbandin recorded 45 Β°C, while Sibbi and Jacobabad reached 44 Β°C.

These weather conditions will continue to be monitored as they may have implications for the affected regions.
