Pakistan Winter Holidays 2025 Schedule Announced

QUETTA โ€“ The Balochistan government has released the schedule for winter holidays 2025 for public schools located in the provinceโ€™s cold regions. According to the education department, the winter break will begin on December 16 and last for two and a half months.

Meanwhile, examinations for students of classes 1 to 7 in Chaman started on November 16 and will continue until November 24. Board exams for class eight are scheduled to begin on November 24.

In Punjab, the School Education Department has also announced its winter holidays schedule. Schools will close on December 23, 2025, and reopen on January 12, 2026.

Winter holidays in Pakistan usually take place from mid-December to January, coinciding with colder weather and the peak winter season. Northern regions such as Gilgit-Baltistan and Murree often begin their breaks earlier due to heavy snowfall and harsh conditions. In contrast, schools in southern areas start the vacation in late December.

These holidays provide students with a much-needed break from academic activities. Families also benefit from the timing, which aligns with seasonal events, Christmas celebrations, and New Year festivities. The winter holidays give people time to rest, travel, and enjoy gatherings with relatives.

Education officials emphasize that students should use this period wisely, balancing rest with revision for upcoming exams. Authorities also remind parents to ensure children stay safe during travels and outdoor activities in cold regions.
