Pakistan Has Not Approached Russia for Oil Purchase Yet: Envoy

Pakistan Has Not Approached Russia for Oil Purchase Yet Envoy

Russia has indicated that Pakistan could explore new options for meeting its growing energy needs, including the possibility of importing Oil. The statement was made by Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Albert Khorev during a press briefing in Islamabad.

The ambassador clarified that Pakistan has not yet formally approached Russia for the purchase of Oil. However, he noted that there is strong potential for future cooperation in the energy sector. Russia, he said, has the capacity to supply energy resources at competitive prices.

Khorev explained that Pakistan’s demand for energy continues to rise. This creates an opportunity for both countries to discuss long-term partnerships. He added that Russia remains open to talks if Pakistan decides to move forward with Oil imports.

The ambassador highlighted that such cooperation could benefit both sides. Pakistan could secure affordable energy supplies, while Russia could expand its export market. He emphasized that any agreement would depend on formal discussions between the two governments.

During the briefing, Khorev also spoke about the broader regional situation. He expressed concern over rising tensions in the Middle East. He said that ongoing conflicts are affecting global stability and energy markets.

According to the ambassador, Russia supports peaceful solutions to international disputes. He urged all countries involved in conflicts to use dialogue instead of confrontation. He warned that continued tensions could have serious consequences for global security.

Khorev also commented on the role of major powers in the region. He claimed that certain actions by the United States and Israel are increasing divisions among Muslim countries. He said such developments could worsen the situation if not addressed through diplomacy.

Experts believe that Pakistan is actively looking for ways to diversify its energy sources. Rising fuel prices and supply challenges have increased the need for reliable partners. In this context, Russian Oil could become an option in the future.

However, analysts note that any deal would require careful planning. Factors such as payment methods, logistics, and international regulations would need to be considered. Pakistan has previously explored similar options with other countries as well.
