Raza Nazar, a student from Karachi, Pakistan, at the University of Oxford, has been elected President of the graduate community (MCR) at the prestigious Trinity College, marking him as the first Pakistani to hold this position.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Civil Laws (BCL) at Oxford, Raza focuses on constitutional law, jurisprudence, and political theory.

Raza completed his education at Karachi Grammar School before earning his International Baccalaureate Diploma from the United World College in Singapore. He then graduated with a Double First in Law (LLB) from the London School of Economics (LSE), where he was ranked 2nd in Jurisprudence.
During his time at LSE, Raza became the first Pakistani President of the LSE Law Society, which won the “Best Student Society” award in 2018 under his leadership. He also served as President of the LSE Pakistan Society, where he established the LSE Future of Pakistan Conference, a student-led forum connecting ministers, academics, and students annually.
Raza has written several articles, including a paper for the Oxford University Commonwealth Law Journal on the Supreme Court case Jurists Foundation v Federal Government, concerning the tenure extension of the Chief of Army Staff.
With his extensive academic and professional background, Raza aims to explore effective practices for constitution-making in Asia and contribute to scholarly work on constitutional duties to the collective.
