Pakistan’s Sports Goods Exports to China See Strong Growth

Pakistan’s sports goods industry has witnessed notable progress in its export sector, with shipments to China rising by 6.68%, reaching $10.7 million in 2024. This growth is attributed to the strengthening of economic ties between Pakistan and China, particularly through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) has played a crucial role in bolstering the sports manufacturing sector, enhancing international market access, and promoting technological advancements. Pakistani manufacturers have especially excelled in producing footballs, basketballs, and volleyballs, which have gained recognition in global markets.

The growing popularity of basketball and volleyball in Chinese schools and professional leagues has created new opportunities for Pakistani sports goods manufacturers. With China emerging as a key market for Pakistani sports equipment, demand has surged, especially in preparation for major sporting events. The integration of advanced Chinese technology has also contributed to modernizing Pakistan’s manufacturing capabilities.

As the demand from China’s expanding sports sector continues to grow, the collaboration through CPEC has facilitated smoother market access and improved logistics, helping Pakistani manufacturers gain a stronger foothold in the region’s sports goods industry.
