ISLAMABAD โ The Pakistani government has announced a new rule requiring all prospective overseas workers to register on the PakSkills platform before leaving the country.
This measure affects thousands of Pakistanis seeking employment abroad, especially in the UAE and other Gulf countries. Rising inflation, limited local job opportunities, and the desire for a better future have encouraged many young Pakistanis to explore overseas work. Now, registration on PakSkills is a mandatory step before pursuing these opportunities.
The Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis launched PakSkills to combat human smuggling and enhance the safety of Pakistani workers abroad. The platform aims to provide proper documentation and verification for all overseas employment applicants. This mandatory registration requirement will take effect from November 19.
The PakSkills app is free and user-friendly. Applicants must submit detailed personal information, including CNIC and passport numbers, educational qualifications, and specifics about their intended overseas job. Authorities emphasized that accurate and complete information is essential for verification purposes.
Officials warned that no work permit or protector for overseas employment will be issued without a valid PakSkills certificate. The decision is expected to impact thousands of young Pakistanis who had already planned to pursue jobs abroad, making registration unavoidable for anyone seeking legal overseas employment.
The government hopes that this move will protect workers from exploitation, ensure proper documentation, and reduce illegal recruitment practices. By registering on PakSkills, Pakistani workers can have access to verified employment opportunities and better support while working abroad.
