The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has introduced a new online payment system, making it easier for citizens to pay their passport fees. The system allows users to complete payments within a minute, removing the need to stand in long queues at National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) branches.
According to the department, passport applicants can now make their payments anytime and from anywhere using the Passport Fee Asaan mobile application or the official web portal Paymaster.com.pk. This digital initiative aims to simplify the passport application process while increasing convenience and efficiency for the public.
To use the service, applicants must first generate a Payment Slip ID (PSID) through the Passport Fee Asaan app, available for both Android and iPhone users, or through the Paymaster website. Once the PSID is created, users can pay through internet banking, ATMs, Easypaisa, or JazzCash. They simply need to select the 1Bill option and enter “999999” before the PSID number to complete the transaction.
After successful payment, applicants can visit their nearest passport office to finalize their applications without waiting in long bank lines. The move marks a major step toward digital governance and aligns with Pakistan’s broader goal of improving public service delivery through technology.
Officials said the new system will help reduce congestion at bank branches and passport offices, saving time for both citizens and staff. It also promotes transparency and ensures that payments are processed quickly and securely.
The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports encouraged all applicants to use the Passport Fee Asaan app or Paymaster.com.pk for faster and hassle-free transactions. The service is now live nationwide and is expected to significantly enhance the overall passport issuance process.
