PDMA Issues Weather Alert for Rain and Dust Storms in Sindh

PDMA issues a weather alert for several districts of Sindh, warning residents about possible rainfall, dust storms, and thunderstorms. The advisory was released on Sunday by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Sindh.

According to the authority, changing weather conditions may affect several parts of the province over the next two days. Officials have urged residents to remain alert and follow safety instructions issued by local authorities.

Director General PDMA Sindh, Salman Shah, warned that Dadu and Qambar-Shahdadkot districts are likely to experience dust storms and rainfall during the day. He advised people in these areas to take precautionary measures and avoid unnecessary travel during severe weather.

The PDMA issues advisory also includes forecasts for rainfall in several other districts. These include Tharparkar, Sukkur, Shikarpur, Larkana, Dadu, Jacobabad, Naushahro Feroz, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Sanghar.

Authorities have directed all concerned departments and district administrations to remain on high alert. Emergency response teams have also been instructed to stay prepared for any weather-related incidents.

The disaster management authority has asked local officials to monitor the situation closely. They have also been told to ensure that emergency resources are available if required.

Residents living in low-lying areas have been advised to remain cautious. Heavy rainfall may lead to water accumulation in some locations. Strong winds could also affect weak structures, roadside signboards, and electricity supply in certain areas.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) had earlier forecast mainly hot and very humid weather across most parts of Sindh. However, the department also predicted isolated rain, windstorms, and thundershowers in several districts between July 12 and July 13.

According to the weather forecast, Tharparkar, Sukkur, Shikarpur, Larkana, Dadu, and Jacobabad are among the areas expected to receive rainfall during this period.

The latest warning comes as weather conditions continue to change across different parts of Pakistan during the ongoing monsoon season. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and are prepared to respond if conditions worsen.

The PDMA issues weather advisory to help reduce the risk of damage caused by sudden storms and rainfall. Officials have urged the public to stay informed through official weather updates and avoid unnecessary exposure during severe weather.
