The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Urban Mobility Authority has announced a Rs10 increase in the per-stop fare for the Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, with the new rates set to take effect from July 1.
In an official statement, the Transport Department cited soaring inflation as the primary reason for the fare hike. Officials said the adjustment was necessary to offset growing operational costs and reduce the financial burden on the BRT project.

The revised fare structure comes amid public concerns over the affordability of urban transport, especially for daily commuters.
Authorities stated that despite the increase, the BRT remains one of the most cost-effective and efficient transport options in the region.
